Damita Radtke
What does it mean to live your life as an authentic person when you have Special Needs children? It means finding gratitude in every area of life without feeling shame or regret. That’s the beginning of my story and where I am at right now in my life. I knew from the time that my children were born that my parenting journey would be unique and that I would need to learn courage, practice loving-kindness (whenever possible), and to be thankful for the little things. I had no idea that practicing daily gratitude would cause me to experience inner-healing and renewal. This is my abbreviated story and embodies my practice as a wellness professional that I want to share with you. My name is Damita Radtke and I am the mother of two adult children with Special Needs (Exceptional Needs). For over 25 years I have been helping families, professionals, and community organizations to find life changing solutions that come along with supporting children with exceptional healthcare needs. I have a diverse range of professional experience ranging from a certification in assistive technology, working in special education resources classrooms, family support coordinator, and addiction and recovery technician. I use a combination of holistic wellness coaching tools during my sessions including meditation, and creative visualization.
